In 2017, the armchair Rietveld designed in 1942 for the Amsterdam department store Metz & Co was relaunched. A few years later, an unusual discovery was made: the original version turned out to have been standing in a customer's garden for years.

On November 3, 1958, a very special group gathered in Parisian Restaurant Laurent on Avenue Gabriel. Among them was also Gerrit Rietveld who made the design for the 'Press Room'. A place where journalists could retreat to report on what was happening at UNESCO.
